Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of sgtteam.net (the “Site”) and the grievance-review services offered by SGT Team (Solar Grievance Task Force). By using the Site or submitting a grievance, you agree to these Terms.
Who we are
SGT Team is a consumer-advocacy organization. We investigate and document homeowner grievances related to solar sales, installation, and financing, and we press for resolution with the responsible installer, lender, or regulator. Where a matter calls for litigation, we may refer you to a licensed attorney.
Not a law firm; no legal advice
SGT Team is not a law firm, and nothing on this Site or in any communication with us — including by phone, email, or text — is legal advice. Submitting a grievance or speaking with us does notcreate an attorney–client relationship. If your matter is referred to an attorney, a separate attorney–client relationship, if any, is governed by that attorney’s own engagement terms.
The grievance review process
- Your initial review is free and does not obligate you to continue.
- If we agree to take on your file, we will explain the scope of work and any associated fees before you commit to anything — you will always know the terms before you owe anything.
- We do not guarantee any particular outcome. Every grievance is different, and results depend on the facts of your situation.
- Information you provide should be accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
Text messaging
If you opt in to receive text messages from us (for example, through our website chat widget), that program is governed by the SMS terms in our Privacy Policy, including how to opt out.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to submit false or fraudulent information, interfere with the Site’s operation, or attempt to access it in an unauthorized way.
Third-party services
The Site uses third-party tools to operate — including a customer-relationship platform (GoHighLevel) for our chat widget and case management, and a website analytics service. Your use of those tools through our Site is also subject to this Privacy Policy; the providers’ own terms may apply to their underlying services.
Intellectual property
The content, design, and branding on this Site belong to SGT Team and may not be copied or used without our permission.
Disclaimers
The Site and our services are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SGT Team is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or our services.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which SGT Team is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
