How a referral happens

Most grievances get resolved through direct pressure on the installer or the lender holding your loan — that's the work described on How It Works. Some don't. When a file needs a formal legal claim — a lawsuit, an arbitration, a demand backed by the threat of one — we refer it to an attorney who takes it from there.

That referral is where our role ends and theirs begins. The attorney reviews your file independently, decides whether to take it on, and if they do, you engage them directly, under their own separate fee agreement— not through SGT Team. Nothing about the referral itself creates an attorney–client relationship or costs you anything.

What we look for before we refer

We don't hand your file to just anyone. The attorneys we refer to meet a consistent bar:

• Civil litigation background. Experience taking contract and consumer-finance disputes through negotiation, litigation, and appeal — not just drafting demand letters.
• Licensed and in good standing. Admitted to practice by the relevant state bar, with a clean disciplinary record we verify before referring anyone to them.
• Federal court experience. A track record in federal district courts, which matters when a matter involves federal law like the FTC Holder Rule.

Licensed where it matters

We review grievances from homeowners across the country, but a lawyer can generally only represent you in court in a state where they're licensed — or with local counsel alongside them. So we match each referral to an attorney admitted in the applicable state, rather than sending every file to the same place regardless of where you live.

Why we don't publish names here

Our referral relationships are between SGT Team and the attorneys we work with — we don't publish their names or contact details on this site. If your file reaches the point of a referral, we'll tell you exactly who you're being connected with before anything moves forward.
